Today we started removing the bramble that is growing in and amongst the Rhododendrons.
This is a very necessary exercise but I do question the timing based on my finding of two birds nests, bitg having eggs in them.
Arguably, best practice would be to complete any disruptive pruning and/or weed removal either before nests have been built or after any chicks have hatched and left their nests.
The nest with three eggs (as seen in the picture) was not affected today as we delayed pruning this tree until the chicks have hatched and left their nest.
